Darko Slankamenac comes to us from the Bushido Club in Winnipeg, but he was born and raised in Serbia. Darko has more than 25 years of experience playing and coaching water polo. In three short years with Edmonton Tsunami, Darko has built a powerhouse team with the 2008-09 Bantam boys team dominating every tournament they enter. Recently Darko was certified by Water Polo Canada as an NCCP Coaches Evaluator. "Water polo is a sport where the players learn to work together as a team. They learn to push each other and more importantly, push themselves while maintaining a strong academic standing. As we near the start of my fourth season with Edmonton Tsunami Water Polo Club, I couldn’t be more excited with the direction of the club. This season promises bigger and better things than ever before. My goal is to help more people in our community learn about water polo and, at the same time, develop character and sportsmanship.
