If my/our athlete leaves the Club, whether voluntarily or otherwise, after October 15th, I/we will forfeit all registration fees paid to the EWPC in accordance with the refund policy.
I understand that all cheques returned for not sufficient funds (NSF Cheques) will be subject to a $40.00 fee. If I/we pay club fees with a NSF cheque, I/we may be asked to pay future fees in cash or by certified cheque.
MANDATORY Volunteer Committment
The Edmonton Water Polo Club is a volunteer-run organization, and as such, it depends on the volunteer assistance of its members to function as a successful organization. It is critical that we all share in the commitment to produce the highest quality program we can for the kids in our community. Volunteers are essential to maintaining and growing the Edmonton Water Polo Club.
It is a MANDATORY registration requirement to write a volunteer deposit cheque, in the amount of $300, payable to the Edmonton Water Polo Club.
Deposit cheques will be dated May 1st, of the following year. Every family registered with the EWPC is subject to this Volunteer Deposit Fee Policy which requires a minimum contribution of volunteer time to the Club. The deposit cheque will be collected at the start of the season. At the time of registration, parents are given the option of various volunteer roles from which to choose. A more detailed list of volunteer roles is found on our website.
Parents will also be given the option ‘opting out’ of any club’s volunteer activities. We would rather parents find an opportunity to volunteer in some capacity, but if they must, we understand.
As a parent member, of the Edmonton Water Polo Club (the “Club”), I recognize that I am obligated to participate in and assist in fundraising efforts, including but not limited to Bingos, a Casino, a silent auction, team bottle drives, other club fundraisers, etc. These fundraising events are essential to the Club and help keep registration fees and travel costs down. I agree to participate in these fundraising events.
As members of Water Polo Club ALL families are required to work a minimum number of bingos throughout the year (Sep to Aug). Bingos benefit your athlete by keeping their fees down. Working extra bingos shifts is an option to help families reduce travel costs for their High Performance Athletes.
YOUR BINGO COMMITMENT: Because these registration forms have been prepared early in the pre-season the club does not know many players will register this season. The club has tentatively set the minimal bingo requirements are follows (based on estimated registration numbers):
● 10 bingo credits per player (High Performance or WPS): This represents 6 evening-late night bingo shifts combined with 1 regular bingo shift or 10 regular bingo shifts.
● 5 bingo credits for every additional child registered in a family: This represents 3 evening-late night bingo shifts combined with 1 regular bingo shift or 5 regular bingo shifts.
FOUR BINGO DEPOSIT CHEQUES: 4 undated bingo deposit cheques in the amount of $90 must be submitted upon registration. These cheques will be deposited by the club’s bingo coordinator, if you are unable to work or have not registered to work the required number of bingos by March 1st.
ONE BINGO “NO-SHOW” CHEQUE for $150 UNDATED: must also be submitted to the Club on registration to be deposited if you fail to show up to work your bingo or fail to give more than 48 hours’ notice of your inability to work the shift.
BINGO HALL LOCATION: Parkway Bingo Hall, is located at 8775-51 Ave Street.
VOLUNTEERS: MUST BE 18 years of age or older to work bingo.
BINGO SHIFTS: Afternoon 10:30-4:00pm = 1 credit
Evening 4:30-10:00 = 1 credit
Evening Late Night 4:30-12:00 = 1.5 credits
EXTRA BINGO CREDITS: families of High Performance Athletes may work extra bingo shifts in order to earn PTA credits (Personal Travel Account credits). PTA credits go towards their athlete’s travel account and/or towards next season’s fees. One daytime bingo shift is worth one PTA credit (or $60) and one evening-late Night bingo shift is worth 1.5 PTA credits ($90).
PENALTY for not showing up to work your bingo shift is $150 per shift missed. A list of people wishing to work extra bingos can be obtained from the Bingo Coordinator. It is the scheduled family’s responsibility to switch bingo dates with other members if there is a scheduling conflict and to contact the club president to inform him/her of this change.
Edmonton Water Polo Club requires that you agree to allow your athlete to attend all tournaments & competitions as listed on the Competition Schedule (once finalized) for their assigned teams.
NOTE: Your child may be asked to play up in an older age group team.
I/we agree to allow my/our child to attend ALL water polo tournaments and games as outlined in the final competition schedule, for the age group teams to which my daughter/son has been assigned for season. I/we agree to pay all fees associated with these tournaments and competitions.
