Q: How did you first start playing water polo?
A:I first started playing water polo when a new coach from Winnipeg came to Edmonton to coach for Tsunami. He was recruiting players at the Serbian church in Edmonton and I ended up coming to that first practice with five other boys.
Q: What is it about water polo that made you fall in love with the sport?
A: The difficulty of water polo made me fall in love with it, as well as how unique it is.
Q: What is your favourite water polo memory?
A:Representing Canada on the world stage in front of my family back home in Serbia.
Q: What made you want to be a coach?
A: As I transitioned out of being a player I wanted to give back to young aspiring. Being able to teach something that was huge part of my life for so many years feels like a blessing.
Q: Who was your most influential coach?
A: Darko Slankamenac. He was my first water polo coach and believed in me at an early age when others didn’t. I was always one of the youngest and smallest kids for the first couple years at Tsunami, but I could play above older kids because Darko believed in me.
Q: Who is an athlete you admire?
A: Simply the best, LeBron James.
Q: What is your favourite quote?
A: "I don't care that they stole my idea. I care that they don't have any of their own." - Nikola Tesla
