Throughout his career at Tsunami Camilo has distinguished himself by his tenacious work ethic, rapid improvement, and with his incredible passion for the sport. Camilo frequently sends water polo highlights, articles, links and international results in his team group chat. This enthusiasm for the sport makes Camilo a true student of the game who soaks up as much information as he can and encourages his teammates to do the same. Every day Camilo comes to practice eager to work hard, ready to grow and excited to be there. Camilo’s ambition rubs off on his coaches and teammates who are inspired by his intensity.

Over the past three seasons Tsunami has watched Camilo grow from an eager young athlete to a highly talented NCL standout. As our 2020 U16 Boys MVP, Camilo is a terrific asset to his team on both ends of the pool. Camilo has an incredible talent to anticipate the play which allows him to make steals, communicate with his team and prevent scoring opportunities in the defensive end. In addition to his defensive strengths, Camilo attacks the play at all times on offense and is always a handful to guard. His confidence as a shooter and talent as a playmaker make him a key member of any team he joins.

Camilo has represented Tsunami at the provincial team level and at the Edmonton RDC where he continues to pursue his goals as a high performance athlete. Always looking for more opportunities to grow, Camilo is currently preparing for the USAWP Junior Olympics in Southern California with the Patriots Water Polo Club. Camilo is a leader at our club both in the pool and in the classroom as he is equally committed to both his academics and athletics. As the 2021 Male Athlete of the Year, 2021 Student-Athlete of the Year, and 2020 Most Dedicated Athlete, Camilo has raised the bar at Tsunami through the legacy he will leave behind.
