The Edmonton Tsunami Water Polo Club is excited to congratulate Holly Fedyck who will join the California Baptist University Lancers next season! Holly recently signed an NCAA Division 1 scholarship with the Lancers and will be moving to Riverside, California in the fall of 2020 to begin her NCAA career. Planning to study psychology at CBU, Holly will join the Lancers as an attacker.

During Holly’s two seasons at Tsunami she has distinguished herself as a resilient, creative, passionate, and highly-motivated athlete. Holly moved to Edmonton in the fall of 2019 to join Tsunami full-time and immediately made a positive impact at our club. In addition to the demanding NCL training and competition schedule, Holly is a leader who gives back to the community as a volunteer coach with our U8 Polo Pups.

Setting ambitious goals for herself, Holly is always striving to improve and holds herself accountable to an incredibly high training standard. Holly enhances our U19 and MLWP teams through her dynamic offensive style, accurate shot, speed, and willingness to push her comfort zone to continually evolve her game. Holly will bring great offensive contributions and a relentless work ethic to the Lancers next season.

“Holly’s resiliency and willingness to take initiative in her career has always impressed me. I know these traits will make her a strong NCAA athlete and CBU will be strengthened by her dynamic style of play and competitive nature. I could not be happier for Holly and look forward to watching her thrive as a Lancer next season!”

 – Raine Paul, Tsunami Head Coach

Holly has distinguished herself in the National Championship League as an offensive threat. Prior to joining Tsunami Holly had a very successful career with the Fraser Valley Water Polo Club where she was recognized as the U19 Western Conference leading goal scorer for the 2018 season. That same season Holly was long-listed for the Canadian age group national teams and attended the 2018 centralization camp in Montreal. Holly is a current member of the Water Polo Canada Edmonton Development Center where she works in an additional 4.5 training hours each week. This commitment to a higher level of training highlights Holly’s passion for the game and ambition.

With a highly successful NCL career with the FVWP, Holly is a two-time national championship gold medalist and two-time western championship gold medalist. In total, Holly has finished on the podium at six different NCL western or national championship events.

“As a member of BC’s water polo community for many years, Holly consistently demonstrated her hard work and dedication to her team and sport. As a coach, there is little more you can ask for in an athlete. We are so proud to see Holly take her passion, drive and determination to CBU this fall.”

 – Marie Anderson, FVWP NCL Grils Coach

Although Holly is new to the Tsunami community she has already established a strong connection with her team. Holly brings quiet leadership to our female NCL program and sets a strong example of hard work, commitment and ambition for her younger teammates. Holly has taken initiative in her athletic career and is always looking for new opportunities to challenge herself.

“Aside from her incredible speed, her eagerness to learn and improve will be a great asset to any team. I wish Holly the best of luck in the next phase of her career.”

– Marina Radu, Tsunami NCL Girls Assistant Coach

Congratulations Holly! Tsunami is excited to watch you grow as you begin your NCAA chapter. Lance Up!
