Jordan Taylor is the founder and Director of Human Performance for Goliath: High Performance Training. Goliath offers 1-1 training, small group training, team training, and team yoga in Edmonton, Alberta. Goliath boasts an elite volleyball specific training program, and works with several athletes at the youth, university and professional levels to further enhance their physical capacity and abilities. These programs focus on educating the athletes while simultaneously improving their sports physical performance.

 

Jordan completed a Masters degree (MEd) in Coaching and Exercise Science from the University of Victoria and is NCCP level 2 certified. He also holds an undergraduate Bachelors of Kinesiology degree from University of Alberta: Augustana Campus, where he was a member of the Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team during that time.

 

In addition to Jordan's role at Goliath, he is also a successful volleyball coach. Jordan has head coached club volleyball in Alberta since 2012 and  seen his teams succeed, including four straight provincial finals appearances, two back-to-back provincial championship golds, two top 4 finishes in Division 1 Canadian National Championships, as well as having over 90% of his graduating athletes receive scholarships to play post-secondary volleyball at either the CCAA or U-Sport levels. Jordan has also been involved with Volleyball Alberta's provincial team programs, coaching on the men's side on 4 separate summer campaigns, earning two National Championship silver medals (2014 & 2015), one National Championship bronze medal (2016), and competed in the USA High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (2017).

 

At the post-secondary level, Jordan has served as an assistant coach for NAIT Ooks MVB from 2014 to 2019 and now is currently with Macewan University Griffins as an assistant coach for the 2019-2020 season.

 

Q: Who is an athlete you admire?

A: Kobe Bryant: Once of the greatest basketball players of all time with five NBA Championships. Skill level aside, Kobe was one of the most competitive atheltes of his generation. He expected nothing but greatness from himself, his teammates, and the people around him. The expressions "Mamba Mentality" was named after him due to this competitive nature.
